I confess: I own a lot of those old Barry Manilow albums (on cassette, no less!). I was surprised to find in college a few others who liked his work. But the singer/songwriters tend to last.
Lucy, I was rather disturbed by the sight of Mick Jagger dancing around. Though it demonstrated admirable vigor for a man in his sixties.
You caught me, Jim, I am an A-HA! fan. The video for "Take On Me" was truly groundbreaking.
As for the Manilow trivia, I learned that in Vegas last year when the hotel our convention was at for work was the one where he does his shows (but it was a dark week for his performance while we were there, so no Barry sightings.)

First, the Rolling Stones, now... It's the revenge of the old people (like me). I'm just glad I can understand the words!!!

Funny, I posted a blog entry earlier that suggested this was a sign of the end times. Glad we think alike.
By the way, I'm a recovering Barry fan from the "Copacabana" days.
The funny thing is, this singer/songwriter DIDN'T write "I Write The Songs."
A-HA! Only a true Barry Manilow fan could know that this singer/songwriter DIDN'T write "I Write The Songs."
Busted, Riley!
And Ray, I remain convinced that "Copacabana" was really by his evil twin, Skippy.

Cute, Jim. That was "A-HA" as in "Eureka!", not "A-HA!" as in the one-hit wonders of the mid-Eighties.
